MEDICA+ skincare products for treatments using devices

Facial and body care devices—ultrasonic scrubs, microcurrent devices, Darsonval, LED masks—have become a common part of home skincare. However, there is one nuance that is often overlooked: the device alone will not deliver maximum results without properly selected cosmetics.

In this article, we’ll discuss why special formulas are needed for device-based treatments, how MEDICA+ cosmetics differ from “regular” products, and how to choose the right product for your device—from moisturizing gel to post-waxing lotion.

You can view the full product range in the MEDICA+ Face and Body Cosmetics section.

Why do devices require special cosmetics

Regular creams, serums, or gels for daily care are not intended for use with devices. Their main purpose is to moisturize, nourish, and protect. In contrast, cosmetics for devices must fulfill additional functions:

  • ensure current conductivity for microcurrent treatments;
  • ensure proper gliding of the attachment to avoid damaging the skin;
  • not be absorbed within 2–3 minutes, but remain effective for the entire duration of the session;
  • have a comfortable pH and consistency that correspond to the device’s operating modes;
  • not clog pores or cause irritation when exposed to waves or current.

That is why at MEDICA+ we create cosmetics that have been specifically developed for treatments using devices, rather than being simply “suitable for everything.”

Why off-the-shelf products aren’t always suitable for microcurrent and ultrasonic scrapers

Before launching our own line, we conducted extensive market research. We ordered gels, lotions, and serums from various brands, testing them in combination with our devices. In most cases, typical issues arose:

  • too rapid absorption — after just 5 minutes, the attachment “sticks” to the skin;
  • poor conductivity — microcurrents are less effective than they could be;
  • a tightening sensation or dryness after the treatment;
  • a sticky film on the skin, which makes finishing the skincare routine uncomfortable;
  • formulas are overloaded with fragrances or ingredients that don’t “get along” very well with the devices.

At some point, we realized: if we want these gadgets to work at full capacity, we need our own, precisely formulated cosmetics.

How MEDICA+ cosmetics were created: experience, testing, and requirements

Production and testing of MEDICA+ cosmetics

The first step—a detailed technical specification. We defined what microcurrent gels and ultrasonic peels should be like: consistency, viscosity, drying time, glide, conductivity, and post-treatment sensations.

Next, we approached several manufacturers and spent six months testing laboratory samples. Only after dozens of revisions did we arrive at formulas we are truly satisfied with. This is how the first products were created:

Over time, the product range has expanded to include products for problem skin, post-cleansing masks, and a separate line of body care and post-depilation cosmetics.

Quality standards: GMP, raw materials, safety

We never compromise when it comes to skin. That is why simple but strict principles apply in the production of our cosmetics:

  • GMP certification at the manufacturer’s facility is a mandatory requirement. It guarantees control at every stage: from raw materials to the finished product.
  • We use the highest quality raw materials from Germany, France, and Ukraine.
  • To maintain the stability of our formulas, we use Swiss preservatives — safe and gentle on the skin.
  • All MEDICA+ cosmetics are vegan. They contain no ingredients of animal origin.

Each product undergoes laboratory testing, followed by “practical” testing using our devices. Only then does it reach customers.

Guide to the MEDICA+ cosmetics line: which product for what

Medica+ Moisturizing Gel — a skin-preparing formula and ultrasonic exfoliator

Medica+ Moisturizing Gel was created specifically for the cleansing and “cold steaming” stages prior to treatments using devices.

Its purpose:

  • gently soften the stratum corneum without aggressive acids;
  • help open pores before a treatment using an ultrasonic scraper;
  • ensure comfortable gliding of the ultrasonic scraper blade;
  • not to tighten or dry out the skin after the treatment.

The gel does not “run off” the face after 2–3 minutes, but remains in place for as long as necessary to complete the full session.

Medica+ conductive gel — for microcurrent and lifting treatments

Medica+ conductive gel was developed for microcurrent devices, RF treatments, and other devices where conductivity is important.

What it provides:

  • consistent conductivity throughout the entire treatment;
  • smooth gliding of the tip without jerking;
  • no sticky residue after the treatment;
  • gentle care — no tightness or dryness.

The gel’s consistency is thick enough that it does not absorb within a minute, yet it washes off easily with water or toner.

Medica+ Antibacterial Suspension — for Darsonval treatments and problem skin

The Medica+ antibacterial suspension was developed for use with Darsonval therapy and for the topical care of acne-prone skin.

Main functions:

  • reduce inflammation and redness;
  • support the antibacterial action of the Darsonval device;
  • accelerate healing of minor rashes and the marks they leave behind;
  • gently dry problem areas without drying out the entire skin.

Medica+ Masks — finishing the treatment and achieving a “salon-quality effect”

  • Medica+ Pore-Tightening Mask — ideal after cleansing. Helps tighten pores, reduce redness, and even out skin texture.
  • Medica+ Soothing Mask — for sensitive, reactive skin after treatments using devices. Soothes the sensation of heat, has a calming effect, and locks in moisture.

These masks are the logical culmination of ultrasound, microcurrent, or LED treatments. They serve as the “finishing touch” to your skincare routine: the skin calms down and appears more even and fresh.

Medica+ Post-Epilation Fluid — Against Ingrown Hairs

After hair removal (razor, wax, sugaring, trimmer, or laser hair removal), the skin often reacts with redness, dryness, and ingrown hairs. That is why we created Medica+ After-Epilation Fluid.

How it works:

  • reduces the risk of ingrown hairs through gentle exfoliation;
  • soothes the skin after hair removal or photoepilation;
  • helps fade post-inflammatory marks caused by irritation;
  • makes the skin smoother and softer to the touch.

Key ingredients of the fluid:

  • Castor oil — softens and nourishes the skin.
  • Ginkgo biloba extract — improves microcirculation and has antioxidant properties.
  • AHA acids — gently exfoliate and soften the top layer of the skin.
  • Enzymes obtained through the fermentation of Bacillus subtilis — stimulate cell renewal and smooth the skin’s surface.
  • Panthenol — soothes and supports the healing of minor irritations.

What customers say: real reviews and repeat purchases

“This moisturizing gel has become an essential part of my ultrasonic cleansing routine. Pores open up quickly, and my skin isn’t red or tight after the treatment. For the first time, I’ve found a gel that doesn’t dry out within 5 minutes.”

— Kateryna, cosmetologist, Kyiv

“The Pore Control Mask is exactly what was missing after cleansing. Redness subsides, the skin looks soothed, and pores are less visible. Clients often ask what kind of mask it is because the effect is immediately visible.”

— Maria, skincare specialist, Dnipro

We regularly receive reviews on our website, on Google, and on social media, and we also track the best indicator—repeat orders and visits to our office in Kyiv, when people come back for their favorite products.
